Robust QUIC: Integrating Practical Coding in a Low Latency Transport Protocol

We introduce rQUIC, an integration of the QUIC protocol, and a coding module. rQUIC has been designed to feature different coding/decoding schemes is implemented in go language. conducted extensive measurement campaign provide thorough characterization proposed solution. compared performance with that original protocol for underlying network conditions as well traffic patterns. Our results show not only yields relevant gain (shorter delays), especially when worsen, but also ensures more predictable behavior. For bulk transfer (long flows), delay reduction almost reached 70% frame error rate was 5%, while under similar conditions, short flows (web navigation) ≈ 55%. In case video streaming QoE (p1203 metric) was, approximately, 50%.
